I was absolutely delighted to discover this book from Laurie Gottlieb. One cannot stress enough the importance of the paradigmatic shift that Dr Gottlieb is advocating, mainly offering a holistic health focused approach rather than the usual malady-centred that is the hallmark of our health care system in Canada and the US. There is nothing more important than starting from the premise that anyone has an inner capacity for strengthening and empowering herself or himself to face life’s challenges when falling ill. That is what this wonderful book is pushing through, showing how nurses can make a huge difference.
